We have made a short video showing some test driving in an early prototype of the game. This is with unfinished untuned car physics and a basic road with some scenery. It’s basically a small test track where we can try out and test various ideas and game features to see what works and what does not work.
We also use this as a sandbox to test shaders and other graphics related things. Keeping an eye on performance is also important so we use it to test how much stuff we can put into the scenery, both in terms of object count and polygon count. This will then later help us design good looking and well performing tracks.
make iphone or ipad as controls.
For me, as it is the case in many case, the road is too wide and too smooth. That makes the game too easy and really too far from real (even if you’re making an arcade game)
That is a good point. Many times they drive on roads not much wider than the car itself so this is definitely something we will keep in mind.
Hi,
I was really happy playing with Rally Shift 1, but I got a new mac under OS 10.6 and Rally Shift 1.1.4 did not run any longer… so I would like to purchase a new version, able to run under mac OS 10.6 and 10.7.
Tell me when it will be possible to get it. I thank you and congratulate you for your work.
D Bert
I agree with Bert. I’m running 10.8.2, have Rally Shift v1 and can’t run it. I’d be happy to upgrade to a v2 that supports the latest versions of OS X.
